INSIGHT | When walking the streets of any city in the world I most often find myself paying special attention to torn posters on walls. Sometimes such an insignificant and mundane subject can become, unwillingly and rightfully, quite a piece of art whose lifespan, unfortunately, is as ephemeral as that of a butterfly.
So many beautiful things around us, fleeting moments which too often remain unnoticed. They are looking at us, watching us, calling us silently, hoping to be noticed, remembered, and maybe immortalized with a photograph. Professional photographer in Lebanon and the US since 1972, and photography professor at the American University of Beirut from 1997 to 2020, I have always made it a point to find time to create my very own images, looking, seeing, appreciating, and dwelling in the scene, trying to bring out and share the essence of what I see through the viewfinder, which I love to call “My Magic Window”.
